Need transportation to go to work, school, or just to the mall? We can help you get there! Let us show you how to use Spokane’s bus system to let you travel independently.
INDEPENDENCE TRAVEL TRAINING
Our Independence Travel Training program offers access to information, training on how to ride STA, and support to let you travel safely and independently on the bus.
Who might benefit from travel training?
Travel training is usually helpful to individuals who:
are new to the community
can no longer drive
have never used using public transportation
have physical disabilities
have intellectual disabilities
have psychological and/or mental health issues
know little or no English
Who does the training?
Our training is provided by qualified and experienced Travel Trainers. All of our trainers are carefully screened and extensively trained to assist you.
How much does it cost?
All training and related support is provided at no charge thanks to a grant from the Washington Department of Transportation.
Where is the training?
Our travel trainers will provide training anywhere in Spokane County at a time and location that is convenient for you.
How do I get started?
Fill out a Travel Training Request Form and we will get you going!
Need just a light assist? Our Travel Ambassadors will meet you the first time you ride the bus to help you get familiar with the service.
